Begins with a pleasing aroma of black cherry, blackberry, spice and lots of cola. Tasting reveals a smooth wine with lots of ripe, dark berry fruit. It seems to have a lot of oak influence but unfortunately the winery doesn’t disclose the oak treatment. And while it’s good, it does end up feeling a bit manufactured. Still if you’re shopping the mass market selection at your local supermarket it’s a pretty good choice for the price, especially for California Cab. The wine ends with lots of oaky spice on the long, dry finish. - Winemaker
