Shopping for Items
Browse for items via the navigation menu (“Wine” or "Beer") that appears at the top of every store webpage. Items are divided into major product categories and subcategories. Once a category is selected, you can filter items by price and other applicable attributes like country or appellation. You can also sort items (ascending and descending) by price, alphabetical order, etc. A search bar appears at the top of every store webpage. Search for items using broad terms or specific brands and product names.
Placing an Order – In-Stock Items
You can add the quantity of items you want using the “add to cart” button or increase/decrease quantity when viewing your cart. Some items (e.g. limited release products) have a maximum purchase amount. To exceed this amount, please contact us. Note about vintages: If an item does not have the vintage in the title/item name, we do not guarantee a specific vintage unless we explicitly advertise that vintage for sale. Additionally, the pictures of the wines on our website are for visual/informational purposes and do not necessarily indicate the current vintage(s) available. Must be 21 or older to make purchases.
Placing an Order – Out-of-Stock Items - Special Orders
If an item is not in stock in stores or online, we can create a special order for that item usually ready for store pick up or (for wine orders) to ship within two business days. This does NOT apply to limited release and seasonal items, particularly beer / kegs. Use our contact form to inquire about an out-of-stock item.
We currently accept major credit cards issued to U.S. addresses and usually offer the ability to make payments through other secure services (e.g. Apple Pay, PayPal, Google Pay, etc.). Payment may be authorized after checkout, but is not processed until the order is confirmed via email. Triangle Wine Company online gift cards may also be used as payment during checkout.
Sending Items as a Gift
In your cart, there is an option to add a gift message to each item (physical products only - not available for digital products like class tickets at this time) or one message for the entire order. Please check the shipping/delivery address. 
Gift Cards and Certificates
We can only guarantee the authenticity of gift cards/certificates and online/eGift cards if they are acquired through trianglewineco.com and Triangle Wine Company stores. Triangle Wine Company is not responsible for lost, stolen (incl. unauthorized use), or damaged gift cards. Gift cards are not redeemable for cash unless required by law in specific states. For physical (credit-card size, plastic) gift card balances Call 800-919-7518. For online gift cards (eGift Cards) use our website to check the balance (on this page click "Check Balance" which is to the right of "Purchase a Gift Card"). The balance is also displayed during the checkout process when you enter the eGift card number in the order summary or payment section. There are no fees nor do they expire. 
Discounts and Sales
We reserve the right to end or modify any discount, sale, promotion, coupon, offer, etc., at any time. Discount codes (sometimes appearing as "coupons" or "promos") advertised by Triangle Wine Company via trianglewineco.com, official/verified Triangle Wine Company social media pages, paid online and print advertisements, and Triangle Wine Company email newsletters may state if the code is only applicable to online or in-store purchases. Online site-wide or product category discount codes (e.g. "10% off ___", Mixed Wine Case deals, "Save $5 on___") are usually not applied to individual items already marked as on sale. Codes are often only available for current email newsletter subscribers and/or customers logged in to their store account. Discounts on individual items in store locations are not applicable online unless the item is clearly marked as being "on sale" (displaying the regular price and sale price) on the website. All sales are considered final and "While Supplies Last". Discounts do not apply to the purchase of Gift Cards. Promotions have no cash value. Returns of any portion of a purchase containing sale or discounted items will require equal forfeiture of offer or amount equal to offer.
If a discount code fails to work:
  • Has the code been entered correctly? For example, codes that are copied/pasted might contain extra space in front or at the end and may not work correctly.
  • Has the code expired? Entering a code from an older email or advertisement may not work correctly.
  • Was the code a unique/one-time-use code? If the code was used before by you (or someone who gained access to your code), it may not work again.
  • Does your cart contain only sale items? Generally, discount codes and coupons apply to regular priced items--not those already on sale.
  • Does your cart contain excluded products? Codes can apply to broad categories, a set or bundle of items, or individual items, so excluded items will vary. Codes are usually published stating exclusions, if any. Codes will not apply to Gift Card purchases.
  • Are you using a code in conjunction with another code? Some codes cannot be "stacked" or combined with others.
  • Is it a genuine Triangle Wine Company code? Codes published on coupon blogs are unlikely to be official TWC codes.
  • Are you logged in and/or a current email subscriber? The vast majority of discount codes are distributed via our emails to current subscribers and/or those logged in with a store account.
You may checkout as a guest or create an account with an email address to sign in. Whether you are a new customer or already signed up for our email list, if you choose to create an account you will be prompted  to create a password and complete some required fields (such as phone number for billing) upon check out.
Order Confirmation
Online orders are confirmed using the email address entered at checkout as a guest or the email address on file if logged in as a customer. Please configure spam filters to receive emails from "@trianglewineco.com" in your inbox. This email will include the order ID, total amount to be charged, billing address, shipping address (if applicable), a list of the items ordered, payment method, any notes entered during checkout, and a link to check the status of the order.
Order Status and Tracking ("When will my order arrive?")
Emails are sent when an order status changes (awaiting pickup, shipped, partially shipped, etc). If applicable, there will be tracking codes or any other notes. Check order status here if you are logged into your account. Or you may use the link in the original order confirmation email to check the status.
Buy Wine Online and Choose Shipping
You can estimate the cost of shipping and local delivery when items are added to the cart by clicking "Add Info" and completing the zip-code information in the "Shipping" section under the cart's "Subtotal". Store pick up is always free.
Wine Shipping (Beer is not shipped. Kegs, in some instances, can be delivered locally for large event orders.)
Age Verification: By placing an order you verify that you and order recipients are at least 21 years of age. At the time of delivery the order recipient must sign an age verification receipt stating that they are at least 21 years of age and must present a valid driver’s license, military ID, passport, or State ID for identification.  
One order can be split and shipped to multiple addresses.
Shipping locations and rates: The shipping rate will be based on the weight of the contents. The rate includes packaging materials unless otherwise stated. Our shipping containers are sized for 1 bottle, 2 bottles, 3 bottles, 6 bottles and 12 bottles of wine. The rate for each selection will be reflected in your shopping cart and will update as items in the cart are added or removed. Please note that your shipping costs are estimated. We will email or call you with any shipping charge adjustments for your approval.
We ship by FedEx Ground and UPS Ground where it is legal to do so (at this time, we do not ship outside the U.S. and cannot ship to UTAH, MISSISSIPPI, ALABAMA, AND ILLINOIS). Shipments may also be delayed due to weather conditions.  We strongly recommend that you use a business address whenever possible when shipping wine, as someone 21 or older must be available to sign for the shipment. Wine cannot be shipped to P.O. boxes. Some of our repeat customers have chosen to set up personal lockers and/or mailboxes at UPS locations for increased convenience.
Wine Shipping is not cheap. Taking into account the glass bottle and valuable, perishable liquid contents, on average, a bottle of wine weighs 3 to 4lbs. A case of wine weighs approximately 40lbs. Shipping providers charge us based on the weight and distance of every shipment (including the administrative/legal and packaging costs associated with proper delivery of alcohol). Therefore, we will rarely offer very low-cost or free shipping for heavy items shipped long distances. We prefer to be transparent about shipping (rather than hide the costs in higher product prices) so expectations are realistic.
Store Pick Up of In-Stock Items
During checkout you will need to enter a shipping/delivery address so our system's "quote" process can calculate all options (the store pick up option will be free/$0.00 regardless of address). Then select the store, date, and pick up time of your choice. While the earliest pick up time option is a default 48 hours from check out, in-stock items are typically ready for pick up the same day. Confirmed orders must be picked up with 14 days, or items will be restocked and a refund will be issued. Please note store location open and closing hours if you choose to pick up your order outside of the confirmed time slot. Only adults over 21 years of age (with photo identification) can pick up an order. If someone other than you will be picking up an order, please indicate in the notes section of checkout the name(s) or contact us.
Store Pick Up of Out of Stock Items
Special Orders of items not in stock will typically require 48 hours before they are ready for pickup. We will contact you if there is any delay.
Local Delivery
Local delivery is available Tuesday through Friday, 12:30pm to 5:30pm
Upon checkout, complete the shipping/delivery address fields, select Local Delivery and then choose a date/time. If the address is within range, you may proceed to payment (delivery fee is calculated based on order total, zip code, time of checkout, time selected for delivery, etc.). Someone 21 or older must be available to sign for the delivery. Contact us for local delivery of large orders (e.g. weddings, corporate events) and kegs. The delivery fee for large orders varies by product amount, distance, etc.
*Free Local Delivery is often available for orders over a dollar amount within specific zip-code/delivery zones (the order threshold increases with distance. For example, addresses within 5 miles for $100+ orders, addresses 6 - 20 miles for $200+, etc.). 
Same Day Local Delivery is available via various food & beverage delivery companies (ex. Postmates, Instacart, Shipt, Drizly, etc.) we have partnered with, though selection and pricing may vary or differ from our website--and discounts, promo codes, and sales may not apply. 
Returns and Refunds Info
Products subject to price change and availability, online and in-store. In-stock and/or sale items online may not be in stock in the same quantities at all store locations. Items in stock or on sale at a specific store may not be listed online. All sale items and discount codes are considered a limited time offer we can end at any time. All items are considered "While Supplies Last" / no rainchecks. We reserve the right to reject/cancel any "suspicious" orders (e.g. Very large dollar amounts and/or quantities of rare or premium goods from first time customers, etc.). If any communication from this website is not in conformity with any jurisdiction rules and regulations governing solicitation, advertising, shipping and/or transacting business in such jurisdiction, then such communication and any offers made herein in connection therewith, shall be void to the extent prohibited by law.
