This was fashioned from indigenous, Veneto red grapes—Corvina, Rondinella, Corvinone. There were two fermentations, the second with late-harvest fruit. Aromas of dark berry fruit, dark chocolate and spice box precede a surge of beautifully textured black currant, dark cherry and cassis mingling with espresso roast and bittersweet chocolate. It’s mid-plus bodied with structure, persistent purity of fruit and excellent moderating acidity. It finishes lengthy and lip-smacking good and will only get better with time. It can be considered a “wine for all the meals”; thanks to its aromatic quality and softness it well fits any kind of first course and due to its complex and strong structure, it can match also second courses like roasted or grilled meats.
