Varietals: A blend of Chenin and Chardonnay
Tasting Note: This Touraine white has a lovely pale gold appearance and aromas of pear and peach on the nose. A sparkler for all occasions, a delicate brioche note adds a touch of elegance to the finish.
Food Pairing: Serve as an aperitif with foie gras and spiced gingerbread, with stuffed mushrooms or with goat’s cheese and fig canapés.
About: Château de Montdomaine is a newcomer to the Loire Valley wines landscape. Located in the village of Nazelles-Négron, 3 miles north-west of Amboise, this pretty little chateau produces wines from Touraine-Amboise and Vouvray appellations. This is a young dynamic winery, managed by Frédéric and Louisa Plou. Frédéric is from an ancient family of winegrowers who go back to the … 16th century! He vinifies his own wines and, like many of this rising generation of young winegrowers, Château de Montdomaine has adopted artisanal and traditional wine production methods. Therefore, all wines are 100% “natural”.The Plou cultivate 17 hectares of vines, mostly facing south, as it should be on this side of the Loire. In just a few years, the wines of Château de Montdomaine have already built a first reputation. No doubt, it will keep growing.
