The name alludes to the astonishing versatility of this rewarding cultivar. Once the country’s most planted grape, this workhorse varietal is experiencing a remarkable resurgence, providing a welcome counterpoint to wines of weight and power. A glorious, fragrant, fresh Cinsault from non-irrigated old bush vines, matured in older oak and concrete. The nose is fleshy and ripe with sweet strawberry compote, red fruits and gentle fynbos notes. Subtle hints of black olives and spice add extra intrigue. The palate delivers a fresh fruited, bright vibrancy, discreet tannins and a pure and focused finish. This is a delightful all-rounder, ‘any time’ wine. Serves lightly chilled.

    ABV: 13.65%

    Residual Sugar: 2.4 g/L

"I strive to capture a true sense of place, whilst authentically expressing the inherent character of the grapes. This hand-crafted range delivers terroir specific wines with captivating flavours, intricacy, superb structure, and outstanding cellaring potential. Erika O is a pint-sized boutique winery, crafting only small batches and offering a very individual product, which mirrors the immense passion, pride and focus.
The wines are refreshing, elegant, beautifully balanced and well suited to food. The intention is to create wines which authentically express South Africa’s unique vineyard sites and exceptional diversity. Consider the Erika O wines as the ultimate ode to the miracle and wonder which is the magnificent South African Winelands.
I have always maintained the following ingredients are essential in the art of crafting a fine wine: true terroir, balance, honesty, and a light touch. They tell a rich and deeply fascinating story of a time, a place and a maker. Please enjoy the wines as much as I relish the extraordinary “soul journey” they have taken me on." - Erika Obermeyer

Wine Vintages, Bottle Labels, ABV, Ratings, & more

If an item does not have the vintage in the title/item name, we do not guarantee a specific vintage unless we explicitly advertise that vintage for sale. Additionally, the pictures of products on our website are for visual/informational purposes and do not necessarily indicate the current vintage(s) or labels available.

While the product images depict the intended product, label designs and packaging may be altered by the producer/manufacturer at any time. We do not guarantee a specific label or bottle design when you order.

The Alcohol By Volume / ABV percentage reported is meant to be a general guideline given fluctuations in production, sometimes ABV is reported as a range (ex. 12.5% - 13.5%), etc.

Wines labeled as "highly rated" are wines that at some point, including prior vintages, received excellent reviews and scores/points from established critics (and we do our best to report the specific vintage reviewed in the product description notes). It is meant to indicate (as a general guide) that the wine producer received accolades for that product for convenient filtering when browsing and searching.

Dietary Claims, Ingredients, & Other Product Attributes

We make every effort to accurately describe the wines we sell, including any claims made by the wineries regarding the wine's ingredients, additives, or production methods. However, we cannot independently verify the accuracy of these claims. When wineries label their wines as "low sugar," "gluten free," "low sulfites," or any other claim, we rely on the information provided to us and simply label the wines as we are told. Therefore, we cannot be held responsible for any inaccuracies or omissions in these claims. It is always recommended that customers consult with their healthcare professional if they have any concerns or questions about the ingredients in the wines they are purchasing.
